Bad Bunny, Maluma and more headline Vogue International in Paris

On Sunday evening, in honor of International Olympic Day and before the start of the haute couture shows, Anna Wintour, editor-in-chief of American Vogue and global director of content at Condé Nast, flexed her muscles.

Figuratively speaking, of course.

Quite literally, she closed down Place Vendôme — the gilded center of Paris’s fine jewelry brands and home to the Ritz — for the third edition of Vogue International, the fashion and entertainment extravaganza she presented in 2022 as the Met Gala’s cousin and as a model. The potential path forward (and revenue stream) in the face of the decline of glossy magazines. Imagine P. T. Barnum meeting Florenz Ziegfeld and together they put on a fashion show, and you’ll get the idea.

Like the Met Gala, Vogue World, previously held in New York and London, is a vivid expression of the power of Vogue and an effort to make the magazine an arbiter of influence, culture and people. Like the Metropolitan Museum’s annual fundraiser, it includes a great surprise, both in terms of clothing and celebrities. However, unlike the Met, anyone who can buy a ticket, or wants to watch the live broadcast from afar, can enter. You can be part of the world of Vogue. Ambition is part of the price of admission – if you want to buy.

This time, that meant about 800 guests, a lot of them Pay 3000 euros (or $3,205, including tax) for a second-row seat, and €2,000 for the third row, plus the chance to raise the first row (or at least get close to it), which was intended for pretty much every French designer under the sun as well as your neighborhood fashion friends. Vogue like Emma Chamberlain, Selma Blair and Russell Westbrook. Ms. Wintour herself was sandwiched between John Galliano — in another show of support for that designer — and Pharrell Williams, the menswear designer at Louis Vuitton (among many other things).
