Noah Lyles, 26, (Alexandria, Virginia):
And at last year’s World Championships in Budapest, Hungary, Lyles did something no one has accomplished since. Usain Bolt In 2015: He won world titles in the men’s 100m, 200m and 4x100m relay. A world champion who hopes to add the 4x400m to his list of Olympic events begins his bid to win the Paris quadrennial. If he qualifies, Paris will mark Lyles’ second Olympic appearance. In Tokyo, the Alexandria, Virginia, native captured an Olympic bronze medal in the 200-meter dash.

Fred Curley, 29, (Taylor, Texas):
The 2022 world champion and Tokyo Olympics silver medalist is not only seeking to qualify for his second Olympic team, but is aiming to break the world record set by Bolt in 2009. In May, Curley tweeted:

Curley withdrew from the New York City Grand Prix earlier this month, so the Olympic Trials will be his first time competing since that tweet. Will he do what he said he would do?
Christian Coleman, 28 (Atlanta, Georgia):
After being suspended for 18 months, which led to his exclusion from the Tokyo Games. Coleman, the 2019 world champion and two-time world champion in the indoor 60m, is looking forward to making his first Olympic team.
Christian Miller, 18, (Ponte Vedra, Florida):
At the Pure Athletics Spring Invitational in Clermont, Florida, in April, Miller set the American high school record with a time of 9.93 seconds. The only American to run faster this year is Noah Lyles with a time of 9.85
Miller, the under-20 100m and 200m national champion, is aiming to make a name for himself among a large group of veterans and earn a place in Paris.

With a total of 42 medals (17 gold, 16 bronze, 9 silver), the United States boasts the most Olympic medals in the men’s 100 meters. However, an American man has not won an Olympic gold medal in 20 years. He was the last man to do so Justin Gatlin In 2004.
